Sky Deutschland expands market leading HD service with 8 additional channels
Sky to make HD+ service available to Sky satellite customers starting this summer

• Sky Deutschland and HD Plus GmbH agree on strategic cooperation
• In summer 2011 Sky satellite customers will be able to access the full HD+ line-up, including RTL HD, VOX HD, RTL 2 HD, Sat.1 HD, ProSieben HD, kabel eins HD, Sixx HD and SPORT1 HD
• These new channels will be available to Sky satellite customers with an HD Set Top Box, initially for up to 12 months free of charge
• This brings the number of top quality HD channels available to Sky customers to 25

Munich, 11 April 2011. Thanks to a strategic cooperation with HD Plus Sky Deutschland further expands the platform HD offering to satellite customers. In summer 2011 the HD+ channels will be available via most of Sky HD satellite receivers. The cooperation enables Sky subscribers with a Sky NDS-Smartcard and a Sky HD receiver via satellite to enjoy the HD+ channels RTL HD, VOX HD, RTL 2 HD, Sat.1 HD, ProSieben HD, kabel eins HD, Sixx HD and SPORT1 HD – all in fantastic, crystal clear HD quality. When combined with the 12 currently available Sky HD channels (of which 4 are included in the Sky Welt package), as well as the five free-available HD channels on ASTRA (ARD HD, ZDF HD, Arte HD, Anixe HD and Servus TV HD), the total number of top quality HD channels available to Sky customers rises to 25, and there are more planned for launch later this year. Furthermore, for the convenience of Sky customers, all this great choice can be received through a single Sky HD-Set-Top-Box.

The new channels will be available free of charge via certified Sky HD-Set-Top-Boxes for up to 12 months for all Sky HD customers with satellite reception. From then on Sky customers will be free to choose to pay a fee of 50 Euro yearly and keep enjoying HD+ channels together with their Sky subscription.

Sky Deutschland is the market leader in the High Definition sector. Since last year every Sky customer with an HD-ready STB can enjoy many of the great HD channels and programmes without additional costs as the entry-level package Sky Welt now includes four fantastic HD channels: Discovery HD, National Geographic HD, History HD and Eurosport HD. Another seven premium HD channels covering the areas films, sports and Bundesliga football can be booked additionally. With this, we create a unique HD experience only Sky can offer. Furthermore, Sky Deutschland presents Germany and Austria’s first HD-3D channel with Sky 3D. The Sky 3D offering comprises selected Bundesliga live matches as well as other top sports events, current blockbusters, documentaries and music. With “Sky Sport News HD”, Sky Deutschland will launch the first 24/7 live sports news channel in Germany and Austria. The focus of the new offering will be on high-energy, dynamic around-the-clock sport coverage with an emphasis on breaking sport news.
