Premiere launches new programming package via satellite: Premiere Sky
• Market launch scheduled for September 1, 2007
• Wolfram Winter appointed Managing Director of the new Premiere Sky GmbH
• Kofler: “Premiere Sky broadens diversity in digital pay TV – outstanding TV manager Wolfram Winter strengthens Premiere team”

Munich, March 13, 2007.
Premiere is expanding its range of programming packages: starting September 1, 2007, a new package from the “Premiere Sky” brand is planned to supplement the Premiere portfolio. Premiere Sky is the first Premiere pay-TV package to initially be available via satellite exclusively. The particular aim of the Premiere Sky brand is to bundle current and new pay-TV channels that have not yet found a capable satellite marketing partner. Premiere Sky is a product of the new Premiere Sky GmbH, a 100% Premiere subsidiary. Wolfram Winter, 43, has been appointed Managing Director of Premiere Sky GmbH. Winter was Managing Director of NBC Universal Global Networks Germany until the end of 2006.

Dr. Georg Kofler, CEO of Premiere AG: “The time is right for a product like Premiere Sky. A large number of current and planned digital TV channels are now looking for a strong marketing partner – especially via satellite. Premiere can offer these channels nationwide pay-TV marketing with by far the biggest impact. Via Premiere, the channels on Premiere Sky gain direct access to 1.7 million satellite subscriber households. These customers only need to make one phone call and Premiere Sky will be activated within a few seconds. Subscribers don’t need a new receiver or a new smartcard. Premiere Sky will increase the diversity of the digital pay-TV market and add new momentum to the competition between the satellite, cable and DSL transmission modes.”

Premiere Sky doesn’t focus on exclusivity, but on diversity. With this positioning, Premiere Sky is to appeal to both Premiere subscribers and new customer groups. Kofler: “Premiere Sky underlines Premiere’s position as the leading pay-TV marketer in Germany and Austria.” Via satellite, Premiere Sky will be available to 16.7 million TV households in Germany and 1.8 million TV households in Austria.

Premiere Sky GmbH will be based in Unterföhring. Wolfram Winter will take over its management with immediate effect. Kofler: “I am delighted to bring such an enriching addition to the Premiere team in the form of Wolfram Winter. I have known him for many years. He is one of Germany’s most renowned TV managers whose creativity, marketing talent and assertiveness have made his name in the television industry. Wolfram Winter is the ideal man for the Premiere Sky project.”

Wolfram Winter was Managing Director of NBC Universal Global Networks Germany for the past eight years. Winter’s previous positions include Head of Programming at DF1 Das Digitale Fernsehen, Corporate Spokesman of DSF, Chief Press Officer of MGM MediaGruppe Munich and Head of Communications at Antenne Bayern.
